Hi, I’m Raymond Whiteside. I am running for Mayor of Marion this November to bring real transparency, action, and progress to our community.

Raymond Whiteside is a Marion resident, public servant, former educator, and journalist running for mayor to bring transparent leadership, economic development, and active community partnerships to city government. Raised in the Arkansas Delta, Raymond and his wife, Sophia, have made Marion home for the past decade while raising their two children. A certified Professional Community and Economic Developer (PCED), he brings experience in municipal grant writing and a commitment to putting Marion residents first.

The campaign proposes a balanced approach that supports existing small businesses while recruiting new commercial investment.
ACTIVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Trust is built on openness. The campaign proposes livestreaming and posting City Council meetings, reviewing city departments for efficiency, and conducting regular community surveys with published results so residents can see how city government is performing and what their neighbors are asking for.
DRIVEN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Raymond defines active community development as getting basic city services right while investing in stronger partnerships, public spaces, youth involvement, local nonprofits, and neighborhood quality of life.
